Experience:
Professor Santa Maria is the founder of Studio Santa Maria.
He regularly advises the Italian Government in connection with privatizations, restructurings and several aspects of European Law as well as of International Trade Law. He has been involved in a significant number of major M&A deals, mainly in the banking, healthcare, chemical and industrial business and he represents major clients and institutions before the European Commission, European Court of First Instance and European Court of Justice in proceedings related to Competition, Antitrust, State Aid, International Trade Law. Professor Santa Maria sits on the board of several primary companies such as Bracco S.p.A., Bracco USA, Cornér Banca, Villa d'Este S.p.A.. He is the Chairman of Commissione di 2° Grado per Licenze UEFA and Immobiliare San Carlo Trieste. He has been member of the board of Banca Popolare di Milano, Campari S.p.A., Esaote S.p.A., Ferrovie dello Stato S.p.A., Riunione Adriaca di Sicurtà (RAS) S.p.A.
